Developing TPACK Teachers and PD
Inspiring teachers to rethink their pedagogical approach can often be challenging. My approach to inspiring others first is rooted in showing others how fun learning and the classroom can be. It doesn’t have to be soar throats from lecturing all day and stacks of papers to grade. It can be fun!
As a leader and coach, I have strived to transition teachers interested in making their classrooms fun and creative from Lecturer to TPACK Teacher. To that end, I have redesigned professional development to focus on personalizing the needs of individual teachers through creating personal growth plans that lead them toward becoming teachers who strive for the “sweet spot” between Content Knowledge, Pedagogical Knowledge, and Technological Knowledge.
As evidence for this PD approach, I designed a Personalized PD plan and asynchronous Flipgrid approach to sharing professional learning without the need for boring one-size-fits-all staff meetings.
