Many institutions and organizations today have sought to emphasize skill frameworks and measuring competencies rather than just an academic diploma. By offering additional training and awarding badges, micro-credentials, and various kinds of honors and distinctions, these organizations provide opportunities for continued development through the honing of skill and work indicated by a badge or title.

In 2019 I joined this community of distinguished teachers and attended an ADE institute to build connections with other educators to push the boundaries of innovation in education.

Canvas Learning Management System is an online learning platform. Educators design content, deploy assignments, assess learning, and facilitate collaboration in a digital space for blended, hybrid, and online learning. Canvas LMS provides various webinars and training through which educators earn certifications and badges.
Flipgrid is an online video platform through which students and educators discuss and share. By creating short videos in a familiar social-media style, students participate in verbal and asynchronous discussions through content designed and facilitated by their instructors. These badges are earned through content creation and student interaction.
